Kim Kardashian and Kanye West caught a lot of heat because they hired private firefighters to protect their home during the California fires.
Kardashian, who appeared on Ellen, explained why she made the decision to hire the firefighters, “Our house is right on the end of a big park, so the whole park had caught fire and if our house went, then every other house would go," Kardashian explained.
During the appearance, Kim donated $500,000 to the California Fire Foundation, the California Community Foundations Wildfire Relief Fund, and to a firefighter who lost his home.
I don't think anyone should really have to justify why they would want to save their home from a fire, but it's nice that she explained exactly why.
