According to Fox 11, travelers going through the Los Angeles International Airport will have another way to get a REAL ID for a limited time.
The California Department of Motor Vehicles and United Airlines have teamed up to host a REAL ID application popup center in the month of July. The popup is open on July 19, 21, 26 and 28 from 8am to 6pm and if the demand is high then they will add more dates. Airport employees residing in California or ticketed passenger will be able to take advantage of this opportunity if they haven't gotten a REAL ID yet.
People who want to take advantage of this opportunity must start the application online and upload their documents before they meet with the DMV representatives at the popup. They will also need to bring the original uploaded documents so they can be verified as well as a copy of the confirmation page. In order to complete the application, a fingerprint, e-signature and photo will be taken at the popup. This popup is great as the REAL ID or other federally-issued documents will be required to travel domestically in the U.S. starting May 2023.
