So is this the hot new trend for 2020? Conch removal is a body modification where people are getting the inside of their ears removed. The procedure involves taking out the ‘concha’ which is the middle bit of the outer ear. It is also known as the Pinna and the Auricle. And according to an ‘artist’ that specializes in this modification, “It might impair your ability to hear the direction of sound for the first week or two until your mind has adjusted to your new ears. Hearing from behind will in fact improve.” I mean, that's a chunk of ear that is being taken out! Hard pass for me, but would you do it? Check out the video to watch a man getting the procedure done.
