If you missed Pink's speech at the VMA's it was truly inspiring. She spoke of how her little girl told her one day that she didn't feel pretty, that she felt ugly, like a boy with long hair. Her first reaction was one of anger, but eventually she calmed down and told her :
"We don't change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. We help other people to change, so that they can see more kinds of beauty."
It's such a relatable story. I think there are times when we all feel "ugly," or that we don't match the traditional ideas of beauty. Pink might not have traditional good looks, she might have short hair and too many muscles, but she's also a wildly successfull artist, and a Covergirl model, and I think both her and her message are beautiful.
