SKIPPY recently announced via their social media accounts that they are recalling certain peanut better products due to the possibility that some of the jars could contain a small fragment of stainless steel from a piece of manufacturing equipment.
SKIPPY Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread, SKIPPY Reduced Fat Chunky Peanut Butter Spread and SKIPPY Creamy Peanut Butter Blended with Plan Protein are currently being recalled based on the code date located on the top of the lid. Currently there have been no consumer complaints related to the recall but out of caution they wanted to alert their customers about the issue.
Visit the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to see the exact recall code dates for the peanut butters.
