Big Bird's vaccination announcement has ruffled some feathers.
On Saturday, the famous Sesame Street character revealed on Twitter that he's vaccinated.
"I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it'll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy."
The announcement sparked a backlash from some Republicans, including Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, who accused the 8-foot tall Muppet of tweeting "government propaganda."
While Big Bird has been on Sesame Street for decades, his character is meant to be 6-years-old. So, he just became eligible for the vaccine.
Others online praised Big Bird's vaccination saying he's been "setting an example for a long time."
