Entire pro-hockey division opts out of season. #ECHL

An entire division of a mid-level Double-A professional hockey league has opted out of the 2020-21 season.

ESPN reports all six ECHL North Division teams voluntarily suspended operations as a result of the economic impact of COVID-19.

That leaves 18 teams still competing, including the Atlanta Gladiators - a Boston Bruins affiliate.

Every player on the opt out teams is now a free agent.
