#JusticeForCannon : GoFundMe tops $440K, here's the link

He was just 5 years old. Cannon Hinnant, was allegedly shot at point-blank range, by his neighbor, after reportedly riding his bicycle in front of the suspect's home. Emergency personnel performed first aid, and rushed Cannon to Wilson Medical Center, where he later died. This is perhaps the most horrible story I've read in a long time.

I wanted to share a GoFundMe, in support of the Hinnant family. At the time of posting this article, the funds raised for the Hinnant family tops $440,000.

Horrific case out of Wilson, North Carolina where a man reportedly ran up to the child while he was playing outside, stuck a gun to his head and fired.

WRAL-reports:

Family members said Cannon Hinnant was playing outside his father's house when he was shot in the head. The boy's two sisters, ages 8 and 7, saw their brother get shot, according to Cannon's mother.
Cannon was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where he died.

Doris Labrant, a neighbor, said she witnessed Sessoms running up to Cannon, putting the gun to his head, and firing the weapon before fleeing the scene.

Labrant told WRAL-TV:

"My first reaction was he's playing with the kids. For a second, I thought, 'That couldn't happen.' People don't run across the street and kill kids."
She said she realized the gun was real when she saw Cannon's father's reaction to the shooting, and she quickly went inside her home, locked the door and tried to call 911.

Authorities took Sessoms into custody and charged him with first-degree murder.

Police have not yet determined a motive, but they say the killing wasn't random, as Sessoms was reportedly friendly with Cannon's father.
