March scheduled for Thursday in Florence

Rev. Willie Bacote, pastor at Missing Link AME Zion Church, is leading a march on Thursday, June 4th at 12:00PM, to protest the death of George Floyd, in Florence.

The route for the march will begin at Missing Link AME Zion Church, and move to the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Bridge, to Dargan Street , to Evans Street, and then proceed to the City Center, in Florence. The march will end with a prayer led by Pastor Bacote.

Pastor Willie Bacote explains, "I personally have experienced what the family of George Floyd (and many other African American families) have experienced at the hands of the police. I have been to funerals. I've been to wakes. I'm so tired of preaching funerals, and seeing innocent people being simply slaughtered, at the hands of the police. We are a very non-violent group of individuals and we do not advocate violence what-so-ever. And that's what our march is about, simply letting our voice be heard...."

Pastor Bacote invites the public to march, this Thursday, 12:00PM, at the Missing Link Ministry, 508 Oak Street, next to Manna House in East Florence.
