How to take better selfies

Love it or hate it, we’re living in the era of the selfie. Being able to capture a good selfie is now an essential life skill and even if you’re not the type to snap a photo of yourself doing regular, everyday things, you’ll want to know how to capture the moment perfectly when you’re at the Cherry on the Spoon.

We’ve been taught that the best practice protocol for selfies is taking them from above and it turns out, the trick to looking your best in the photo is to shoot from the side and keep the phone at eye level. You’ll also want to have the phone angled to your best side and not straight on.

Just how much to the side are we talking? If you want to take that perfect selfie you want only one shoulder and half of the other one visible in the photo. It may seem awkward at first, but the effect is supposed to be slimming and look less obvious than those aerial shots we’ve all been taking.

The picture below from Selena Gomez is a great example of what you should be looking to do.
