After only 45 days on the job, Bernadine Reed, bus driver for Darlington County Schools, is being honored by the City of Darlington for her efforts of saving the children on her bus route, after an accident created a safety scare.
On January 22, 2019, was the date of the accident when her bus actually was hit from behind and caught fire. Ms. Bernadine Reed safely evacuated all of the students following the accident.
City of Darlington Mayor Gloria Hines presented Ms. Bernadine Reed with a key to the city on Feb. 12, 2019.
