We were able to catch-up with Darlington County Emergency Management, and thankfully there were no fatalities. Only one reported injury (broken leg) as a result of the storm... Three homes were destroyed or seriously damaged. The American Red Cross is now assisting. The National Weather Service is now in Darlington county reviewing the area, and ruling if it was indeed a tornado or straight-line winds.
According to the Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross, seven families had their homes damaged from the possible tornado. Most of the reported damage was on Philadelphia Lane, in Hartsville. Disaster-trained personell with the American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the possible tornado, from last night's storm.
