The Tennessee Titans waived wide receiver Treylon Burks, a key piece in the 2022 draft day trade that sent wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, on Monday (July 28).
Burks, 25, was selected by the Titans at No. 18 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, a pick that was acquired for Brown, 28, along with several other less notable pieces. The former Arkansas standout was waived three years later with an injury designation after hurting his collarbone in practice on Saturday (July 26) and would end up on the Titans' injured reserve if he clears waivers.
Burks was limited to just two starts and five appearances in 2024, recording just four receptions for 34 yards and has only one career receiving touchdown recorded during his rookie year. Brown, on the other hand, has remained one of the NFL's best wide receivers, having been selected as a Second-team All-Pro during each of his first three seasons with the Eagles, which included recording 67 receptions for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games during the 2024 season, as well as 12 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns during Philadelphia's Super Bowl LIX postseason run.
The Titans had already signed former University of Tennessee and Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Ramel Keyton prior to waiving Burks following initial news of his injury.
