Denise Richards claimed her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, tried to end her life during their marriage.

Page Six recently obtained court documents in which the actress accused her former partner, who filed for divorce less than two weeks ago, citing "irreconcilable differences", of violently abusing her throughout their union.

"Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack," the documents read.

Richards goes on to explain that in 2022, Phypers called her a "f****** b****" and aggressively slammed her eye with the palm of his hand.

"Aaron grabbed me by the back of my head by my hair and slammed me into the ground and screamed, 'You are not cancelling my flight, I am going with you and I do not trust you." The documents also contain photos of her with a black eye, supposedly the result of being struck by Phypers, to whom she was married for six years.

A restraining order requires Phypers to remain "100 yards from Richards and her property, including her home and car" until their next court hearing scheduled for August 8.
