According to a release from the Darlington County School District:
“We know how important a graduation ceremony is for our students and families. Over the past few weeks, we have explored dozens of ideas for graduation ceremonies,” said Dr. Tim Newman, district superintendent. “It is an experience of a lifetime, but we are in times like no other. We are trying to provide a memorable experience in a safe, healthy environment, while following the guidelines of the Governor, DHEC, and the state department of education.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new public health guidelines will be implemented and enforced. All graduates will receive two (2) tickets for friends and family, as per SC Dept of Education guidelines. Each attendee must sit in pre-marked/assigned seating, which will be 6 feet apart in the stands. Seating will be assigned in a lottery drawing system. Attendees, will be encouraged to wear masks, and those that do not have masks may be provided one at the graduation ceremony. Hand washing stations/hand sanitizer will be available at the stadiums. Graduation will be live-streamed for those that cannot attend.
