Marvel Studios Announces Debut Of First Openly Transgender Character

The president of Marvel Studios says they will debut their first openly transgender character in a movie. Kevin Feige was at a New York Film Academy panel when a student asked him if they would be including more LGBTQ characters, specifically transgender characters, into the universe. Feige responded,

"Yes, absolutely, yes, and very soon, in a movie we're shooting right now."

Feige did not specify exactly which movie it is. He is also Marvel Comic's Chief Creative Officer and he pointed out that the success of movies like Black Panther and Captain Marvel have shown that diversification of characters is beneficial. The MCU already has an openly trans actor, Zach Barack, who played one of Peter Parker's classmates in "Spider-Man: Far From Home."
