Christmas is a wonderful time of the year, but sometimes for military members it can be an extra lonely time of the year. If you're deployed and can't be with your family celebrating your favorite traditions, or if you're a family member at home while your spouse is deployed, Christmas just isn't the same. Sometimes small acts of kindness can make all the difference in the world.
Trees for Troops is an organization that has been around since 2005 and their mission is to send real Christmas trees to military families. Since they started this program they've delivered a quarter million trees, and this year, their goal is to deliver 16,000 trees to military families across America and overseas. The charity is run by nine people, but they rely on hundreds of volunteers from all over, including 800 farmers from 25 different states.
