Britney Spears To Reunite With Her Sons Following Mental Health Treatment

Britney Spears And Sons Visit Dodgers Stadium - April 17, 2013

Britney Spears is coming back home to her boys.

According to TMZ, the singer is expected to reunite with her children for three days after completing her 30-day stay at a mental health facility on Thursday (April 25), per her joint custody agreement with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Spears has two sons with the former backup dancer ā€” Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12 ā€” and abides by an agreed-upon 50/50 arrangement that allows her three consecutive days with her boys before returning the brothers back to Federline.

While this has been the case for several months, Federline was given more custody in the time leading up to Spears' mental health treatment on days when she was "doing poorly." The artist will spend the first of her three days with her boys today (April 26), but the celebrity gossip outlet indicates doctors are still concerned about the 37-year-old's mental state, citing "issues with her judgment" that apparently go "beyond medication."

As you know, Britney entered the facility a month ago in light of reports of her father Jamie Spears' life-threatening medical condition. In the interim, the pop star admitted herself into a wellness center for the betterment of her mental health. Since finishing treatment, it's been reported the songbird has made improvements and appears to be in a much better mental state, though doctors were still concerned about creating a formula of medications that would help her stay on the straight and narrow as it was reported her old mix of medications may have triggered her mental health crisis.

Per previous reports from TMZ, Britney's doctors had been adjusting her old meds because they'd lost their efficacy. "Britney's mental health issues were [previously] stabilized with a cocktail of medicines that were designed specifically her. Over time, those meds were increasingly ineffective and doctors needed to create a new cocktail," the site added.

As far as we know, Britney is said to be "doing better" but her situation may require "intensive therapy."
