Homeless Teen Gets A Chance To Play College Football

Making a college football team is an impressive feat for any teenager - especially if you grew up in a country where they didn't play football - and especially if you're also homeless.

Meet Leslie Adindu, a senior at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Leslie grew up in Nigeria and never played football before joining his school's junior varsity team. He had also been living at a homeless shelter after getting into a fight with his father.

Coaches sent out practice tapes of Adindu, which caught the attention of Southwest Baptist University in Missouri. Now Leslie has signed a letter of intent to play college ball - despite never even playing a varsity game in high school.

  • Would Adindu's story make a good movie? What kind of lessons did you learn playing high school football?
