DUI Checkpoints To Be Set Up In Florence/Marion Counties For October

DUI and Driver License Checkpoint motion

Many people think that October is the best time of the year with all the football games and Halloween parties. Unfortunately, some people might overindulge and make the bad decision to drink and drive. It is NEVER the right call to get behind the wheel after drinking, even if you've only had one drink.

Florence and Marion counties now join other areas that will have more troopers in the area looking for unsafe driving practices. Through the month of October DUI checkpoints will be set up throughout both counties in an effort to prevent accidents from happening.

WPDE reports:

"The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network is conducting the checkpoints throughout both counties in the month of October.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office says the focus of the operation is impaired drivers and the prevention of motor vehicle accidents.
"The Twelfth Circuit Law Enforcement Network consists of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, the Twelfth Circuit Solicitor’s Office South Carolina Highway Patrol and State Constables, and is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety."
